International Women's Day 2023
Today I honour feminist ancestors who fought for women’s rights by sharing a video clip from my tribute to Cde Frene Ginwala at Government's Official Memorial Service.
International Womens Day was established to honour the lives of mainly migrant women workers in the US who couldn’t escape the fire raging through the factory they’d been locked into by its capitalist owners.
In 2023 how can we use digital power to increase solidarity, when globally women workers in wealthy corporations face increasing inequality and precarious conditions, including low wages and terrible working conditions? 🌍🌹
